This shot was taken over a period of 12 months. It's a composite image I did in photoshop.
I thought I would have a go at combining two images. The reason, I think, this shot works well, is I took both shots in the same place, at the same time of year, so the direction of the light was similar.
Composite images are subjects of great debate and many people balk at the idea.
I had the shot I wanted in my minds eye, and this was the result. As many people think it's easy to cheat. I completely disagree with this argument. The art of photography, and photography is definitely an art is all about the complete process from beginning to end.
The idea, the execution, and post processing. They are so many good tools available these days, why not take advantage of them. To date this is the only composite image I've done.
