I am currently experimenting with the compact to see how it performs on land and in a DX housing. So far as I can tell the differences from this camera and the Ricoh GX100 (the camera was rebranded by Sea & Sea) are an underwater mode, and allowances for Sea & Sea strobe use, although I don't claim to know what they actually are, apparently something to do with the flash sync.
